Cook fettuccine according to package directions; drain and return to pot.
Melt butter with cream in a separate pot; keep warm. Sprinkle Parmesan cheese over fettuccine and toss for 1 minute.
Add cream mixture; continue to toss for 1 minute longer or just until thickened.
Sprinkle with parsley and additional cheese, if desired.
